“Nymphs”
ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2020 L a Jolla Studio “Nymphs”
This borderline cubist abstract academic large painting “Nymphs” is comprised of acrylic house paint, paint pen, oil paint & large, fragmented pieces of Broken Mirror. The subject matter of the painting depicts three voluptuous women who appeared sexualized in shape but distorted in deliberate calligraphic line quality. An element of futurism is introduced to “Nymphs” through the introduction of the broken mirrors. This painting was finished by painting the rails red with spray paint & is extremely heavy due to the glass as well as dangerous. The artist stayed up for days partying only to produce “Nymphs” amongst a myriad of other paintings. “Nymphs” is one of the featured pieces of the 2020 collection.
