ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2020 La Jolla Studio “Statue of Liberty”

This cosmopolitan New York inspired abstract academic portrait transfer painting of the “Statue of Liberty” was produced with poster images of the Bride of Frankenstein with acrylic house paint, oil paint & fragmented mirrors.  This painting was produced at the Boundary Street property with Lisa Danielle Martinez & has a dark undertone as this was a tremulous period for the artist because of the chaos & arguments Lisa Martinez instigated.   “Statue of Liberty” is tribute portrait transfer inspired by Andy Warhola & in Boundary Street studio of 2022 but is added to the 2020 La Jolla Collection as it was one of only 10 paintings produced by Alexander Paige in 2022.  This painting is produced on a preexisting image of a cityscape which features the woman as the “Statue of Liberty” representing forms and perspective which can change our world & reality. Alexander Paige was going through his own transformation at the time of production of this painting dealing with his own inner turmoil caused by the chaotic relationship with former girlfriend Lisa Danielle Martinez.  “Statue of Liberty” is in the possession of the artist in Southern California.
