ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2020 La Jolla Studio “Scary Bowie”

This dark sinister abstract academic portrait transfer painting of David Bowie was produced with poster images of the iconic David Bowie with acrylic house paint, clear glass, painted glass & fragmented mirrors.  Furthermore, this painting was produced at the Boundary Street property with Lisa Danielle Martinez & has a dark undertone as this was a tremulous period for the artist because of the chaos & arguments Lisa Martinez instigated.   “Scary Bowie” is tribute portrait transfer inspired by Andy Warhola & in Boundary Street studio of 2022 but is added to the 2020 La Jolla Collection as it was one of only 10 paintings produced by Alexander Paige in 2022.  This painting is produced on a canvas & has a unique look as it was left out in the rain during the time of production.   This painting depicts David Bowin in a unique gesture symbolizing the pressures of the world & society… showing that life can change & there are forms and perspective which can change our world & reality. Alexander Paige was going through his own transformation at the time of production of this painting dealing with his own inner turmoil caused by the chaotic relationship with former girlfriend Lisa Danielle Martinez.  “Scary Bowie” is in the possession of the artist in Southern California.
