ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2022 Black & White Ink Drawing “Rehab Med Line”
This black & white ink drawing produced in a rehabilitation clinic 2022 by Alexander Paige depicts fellow patients of the rehabilitation clinic in a nightly line to take medication. The rehabilitation clinic sedates the “clients”/ patients with medication & the people in the picture are in serious desperation and agony where they are isolated from friends’ family or any form of communication while in the mandated rehabilitation clinic. Artist Alexander Paige chooses to tell the story from the eyes of the patient, from the hurt & ashamed eyes of someone trying to survive the guilt shame and hardship of being on the wrong side of the legal system. This simple image tells the story of human existence in a communal controlled setting stripped of all freedoms.
