ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2022 Black & White Ink Drawing “Prisoner Surrenders”
This pencil drawing portrays police detaining a man and strapping him to a chair. This actually happened and I witnessed the police hurting my friend who was very intelligent and discussed the intrinsics of becoming a US State National. This drawing took place in jail. This simple image tells the story of human existence in isolation & how our pencil and paper are our only outlet to tell the story around us and are to be relied upon in dark cold lonely circumstances.
