ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2001 Portrait Transfer “Princess Grace Kelly”
This painting was produced in 2001 in the artists first studio. This image of Grace Kelly was applied to canvases using a black and white print out, matte medium, hot water & Brillo to remove the paper with the ink from the image remains existing in the matte medium. Alexander Paige then did a lite glaze in copal painting medium & linseed oil with house paint. The surrounding background is a flat acrylic blue & a splatter of acrylic brilliant red paint. This series of paintings, & this painting in particular were small & produced after looking at paintings from Andy Warhola as an exercise in painting. This painting is currently held by the family of Alexander Paige.
