ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2001 Portrait Transfer “Princess Floating Blue”

This painting of the Princess of Monaco “Grace Kelly” was produced in 2001 in the artists first studio.  This image of Grace Kelly face appears “floating” was applied to canvases using a black and white print out, matte medium, hot water & Brillo to remove the paper with the ink from the image remains existing in the matte medium.  Alexander Paige then did a lite glaze in copal painting medium & linseed oil with house paint.  The surrounding background is a flat acrylic blue & a splatter of acrylic brilliant red paint.  This series of paintings, & this painting in particular were small & produced after looking at paintings from Andy Warhola as an exercise in painting.  This painting is currently held by the family of Alexander Paige.
