ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2020 La Jolla Studio “Pink Breasts”
This abstract academic painting of a woman’s torso depicted in a pink hue is accompanied by nuanced segmented painterly paint application. Vibrant pink is the primary color of the painting throughout as the painting is executed with painting knife & there are many pieces of select nuanced placed paint on particle board. The artist finished this painting as the birds were chirping with the sunrise in La Jolla California on La Jolla Blvd. This particular painting is an abstract academic expressive painting of a girlfriend’s torso as she modeled for the artist as the sun was coming up. Summer 2020 La Jolla studio was extreme to say the least, however paintings like “Pink Breasts” is one of about one hundred paintings produced in about a four-month period.
