ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2020 La Jolla Studio “Phoenix”

This vivid abstract mixed media painting is a rendition of a woman with wings which originally was painted as a woman next to a coronium column with a basket of fruit all the way back to 2001.  Over the years this painting took on many forms as it evolved into a serious most focused accumulation of fractured mirrors.  The artist chooses his own rendition on the female form which appears in the negative space within the mirrors, as this painting as the birds were chirping with the sunrise in La Jolla California on La Jolla Blvd Studio.  This particular painting came as an outlet and was a breakthrough as the artist decided to break all the mirrors in his home & put them in the paintings.  Summer 2020 La Jolla studio was extreme to say the least, however paintings like “Phoenix” is one of about one hundred paintings produced in 2022 & is very heavy in weight containing fractured mirrors & rocks inside the acrylic house paint.  “Phoenix” is in the possession of the artist by in Southern California.
