ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2020 La Jolla Studio “Nude Tower”
This unique painting is Yves Klein inspired as artist Alexander Paige painted the nude breasts and torso of friend & at the time of production 2020 La Jolla Studio assistant Lyndsey Bothello. Alexander Paige intentionally brings about a sexualized nature of the imagery as the artist held Lyndsey Bothello’s nude body and held her as she rests against the painting lying flat on the ground as the artist found in an alley in La Jolla. “Nude Tower” is an expression of the artist experimentation with medium & saluting an eccentric predecessor in Yves Klein. Specific references to this particular period in the artist’s life is found in a chapter titled “The Heist” in Moments & Experiences, an autobiographical memoir by Alexnader Paige. “Nude Tower” emerged as one of the gems of the collection & is in the possession of the artist in Southern California.
