ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2001 Painting on Canvas “Muse”

This blue watercolor figure painting of a woman’s body without a face or head by Alexander Paige was produced with watercolor and flat acrylic red on paper. This particular painting touches on the concept of “social portrait” especially in society today.  The image of what we portray may appear beautiful as intended to be perceived but in actuality the woman in the image does not even possess a head.   This image touches on the artist lack of faith in love as his heart was broken early in life & this particular image tells the story of “hollowness” & how you don’t really know someone you are vested with.    This particular painting was destroyed two decades later by short term Romanian girlfriend “Amalia Vasii” who ripped the painting during an emotional and moment of rage.   Alexander Paige tells the story of “love can change” & the concept of “heartbreak” & falling out of love in this painting.
