ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2020 La Jolla Studio “Marilyn Madonna”

This second painting in a two-part abstract academic portrait transfer painting of Marilyn Monroe was produced with the concept and theme of the 1980’s.  The subject matter is the famous first playboy model and iconic American goddess Marilyn Monroe portrait transfer & acrylic house paint.  “Marilyn Madonna ” portrays duality is a revival of an old style of portrait transfer inspired by Andy Warhola & in the summer of 2020 is one of the first paintings to contain fragments of broken mirrors by Alexander Paige.  This painting is produced on a canvas.   This painting contains two images of the same woman, Marilyn Monroe… showing that life can change & there are forms and perspective which can change our world & reality. Alexander Paige isolated himself in the summer of 2020 in the infamous La Jolla Studio dealing with his own inner turmoil.  “Iconic Marilyn” emerged as one of the gems of the collection & is in the possession of the artist in Southern California.
