ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2001 Painting on Canvas “Maneater”

This 1980’s female corporate executive inspired painting by Alexander Paige was produced with acrylic house paint & an oil glaze of copal painting medium & linseed oil.  This particular painting touches on arrogant female confidence & references the 1980’s as the “Greed Era.”  Daryl Hannah in Wall Street inspired “Maneater” was produced as a portrait of the artists former first girlfriend Annadera Vallely who blatantly cheated on the artist and broke his heart at the age of nineteen.  Alexander Paige tells the story of “arrogance in ego” & the concept of “heartbreak” & falling out of love in this painting.
