ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2001 Portrait Transfer “Great Gatsby”
Great Gatsby was produced in 2001 in the artists first studio. Alexander Paige is a huge fan of “The Great Gatsby” starring Robert Redford. This Pop expressive painting was produced in the summer of 2001 & features an image of Robert Redford the original “Great Gatsby” with a cigarette in his mouth. The American painting has color theme of red, white & blue & is touched with splashes & paint and color as the artist Alexander Paige expresses freedom in the image. This series of paintings, & this painting in particular were small & produced after looking at paintings from Andy Warhola as an exercise in painting. This painting is currently held by the family of Alexander Paige.
