ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2020 La Jolla Studio “Frank Sinatra & Marilyn Monroe”

This unique vibrant abstract academic portrait transfer painting was produced with poster images of two American Icon’s Frank Sinatra & Marilyn Monroe.  “Frank Sinatra & Marilyn Monroe” is a revival of an old style of portrait transfer inspired by Andy Warhala & in the summer of 2020 is one of the first paintings to contain fragments of broken mirrors by Alexander Paige.  This painting is produced on a piece of metal the artist found in the alley of La Jolla Blvd behind famous restaurant Mandrin House.   The metal is believed to be a piece to a stove top in a kitchen as indicated by the burns on the backside of the metal painting.   This painting contains fragmented painted glass & broken mirrors.   Alexander Paige isolated himself in the summer of 2020 in the infamous La Jolla Studio dealing with his own inner turmoil.  “Frank Sinatra & Marilyn Monroe” emerged as one of the gems of the collection & is in the possession of the artist in Southern California.
