ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2020 La Jolla Studio “Frank Sinatra Blue”

This portrait transfer painting of Frank Sinatra was produced with acrylic house paint, pastels & fragmented mirrors.  This particular painting has a specific story where the artist stopped caring about anyone’s opinion of him or the work he produced.   The story is as follows; artist Alexander Paige was mid production one summer afternoon with literally hundreds of paintings around him covered in paint.  A woman who lived nearby walked through the unlocked door with a girlfriend and said “You’re really doing it” as the artist stood emotionless with cigarette in hand.  The woman insisted that this painting, “Frank Sinatra Blue” was the crown jewel in the summer 2020 collection.  Hours later, the same instance, a friend named Justin came through the door and after a moment of praise for the dedication to the production of the collection, said…. “These paintings are amazing, but I have to take this one off the wall & put it in the other room because it is bothering me.”  This painting contains fragmented painted glass & broken mirrors.   Alexander Paige isolated himself in the summer of 2020 in the infamous La Jolla Studio dealing with his own inner turmoil.  “Frank Sinatra Blue” emerged as one of the gems of the collection & is in the possession of the artist in Southern California.
