ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2001 Painting on Canvas “Drinking Faces”

Exploring medium, exploring concepts, exploring paint…. Alexander Paige produces the loose image by drawing with viscous house paint & tiles in multiple vibrant colors into the image through a oil glaze of copal painting medium & linseed oil. This particular painting was produced in the middle of the night after a night of drinking socially & the original drawing took place in a matter of seconds.  The color was applied in another quick session as Alexander Paige reaches and attempts to “find his way” as an artist highly influenced by the New York Abstract Expressionist school taught by Hans Hoffman.
