ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2001 Painting on Canvas “Chef”

This expressive portrait by Alexander Paige was produced with house paint & oil glaze.  This painting is testament to the exploration and search for the artist’s own voice in production as this painting was created while multiple accredited art teachers were in the artists ear screaming “This is not painting.”  Inspired by the Abstract Expressionist school led by Hans Hoffman & clearly influenced by Jackson Pollock. Alexander Paige attempts to control the viscous house paint and draw with it as opposed to slinging it into the wind.  This painting is held by the artist’s family & was a gift to admired Uncle Rob Scalise in Southern California.
