ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2001 Painting on Watercolor Paper “Blue Underwater Abstract”

This early abstract watercolor painting by Alexander Paige was produced with watercolor, ink & flat acrylic aqua paint.  This particular painting was produced quickly as artist Alexander Paige drops color onto watercolor flat & outlines the abstract shapes with pen & ink & fills in the remaining area with acrylic aqua which gives the image an “underwater” reef feeling.  This painting is an expression of playful abstraction.  Alexander Paige tells the story of “exploring medium” & the concept of “freedom of expression” & the pure joy of abstract painting, free of any academic “rules” of painting.
