ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2020 La Jolla Studio “Amalia Vasii”
This abstract academic painting of the artist Alexander Paige’s much younger Romanian girlfriend Amalia Vasii was produced on a glass window the artist found in an alley in La Jolla. More importantly than the painting itself which is clearly an attempt at showing the hard & cold cruel demeanor of this individual Amalia Vasii. This woman is the reason mirrors are introduced into the paintings in 2020 as she threw a bottle of tequila at Alexander Paige which exploded a large mirror behind the artist who found himself coping with the trauma of sitting in a puddle of blood with a police helicopter shining a spotlight into the 2020 La Jolla studio by placing a piece of broken mirror into a wet painting. Alexander Paige was devastated summer of 2020 in La Jolla studio. Amalia Vasii who was once a friend is no longer in the life of the artist. Alexander Paige remains dedicated to production of fine art & resides out of Southern California.
