This particular painting has a specific story where the artist stopped caring about anyone’s opinion of him or the work he produced. Alexander Paige predicts his own future by portraying himself in what looks like a “straight jacket,” which includes pieces of painted glass & even a piece of a broken record. Summer 2020, Alexander Paige isolated himself in the summer of 2020 in the infamous La Jolla Studio dealing with his own inner turmoil. “Straight Jacket Self Portrait” emerged as one of the gems of the collection & is in the possession of the artist in Southern California.
