ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2020 La Jolla Studio “CA Cola”
This vibrant academic image transfer painting of the iconic Coca Cola set on the canvas with paint & color as “CA Cola” was produced with poster image of the Coca Cola logo acrylic house paint, oil paint & painted glass. This painting shows the effects of overpainting a particular image. “CA Cola” is a revival of an old style of portrait transfer inspired by Andy Warhola & in the summer of 2020. This painting is produced on a canvas & was painted over a previously existing image of the Coca Cola logo as the artist found a large Coca Cola sign in an alley in La Jolla artist acquired. Alexander Paige isolated himself in the summer of 2020 in the infamous La Jolla Studio dealing with his own inner turmoil. “CA Cola” emerged as one of the gems of the collection & is in the possession of the artist in Southern California.
