ALEXANDER PAIGE – 2001 Painting on Canvas “Beach Girl”

This early painting by Alexander Paige was produced with an India Ink under drawing and oil paint.  This particular painting touches on the “life in Southern Califonia” which dates back to the artists first girlfriend Annadera Vallely who broke the artist’s heart.  The woman in the painting is depicted with sunglasses & bikini holding a martini glass similar to Uma Thurman in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction as the artist and his former first girlfriend are blonde.  Alexander Paige tells the story of “summer sunshine” & the concept of “freedom of expression” in this summer inspired painting.
